This week we had the pleasure of participating as speakers in a conference organized by the AECIM's SME Acceleration Office, dedicated to analyzing how Generative Artificial Intelligence is transforming business processes in SMEs.
From OrderToB We share our experience working with manufacturers, distributors and wholesalers in Spain and Latin America, helping them automate one of the most critical processes in their operation: customer order management.
One of the central messages of the day was that the automation of order management should not be understood solely as a technological initiative.
It is a strategic decision with a direct impact on the entire commercial process.
When an order no longer depends on manual interpretation and registration, the entire operation gains speed and efficiency:
Ultimately, automating order reception and management helps optimize the entire process. Order-to-Cash.
For many years, companies tried to get their customers to adapt to their systems through B2B portals, forms, or specific applications.
However, reality shows that customers continue to use the channels that are most convenient for them: email, WhatsApp, PDFs, images, voice notes, or even free text.
The great novelty that generative AI brings is that, for the first time, the technology is able to adapt to the way people actually communicate.
Language models allow us to interpret unstructured information and understand the context of an order, something that until very recently required human intervention.
Understanding a message is not enough to automate a business process.
To transform an email or a WhatsApp message into an order ready for the ERP, AI needs to rely on the company's knowledge: customers, products, purchase history, price lists, commercial terms and business rules.
Therefore, the real value emerges when the ability to understand language models is combined with the context provided by the ERP and with specialized solutions capable of converting that information into structured orders.
We would like to thank the AECIM's SME Acceleration Office Thank you for the invitation and for promoting initiatives that bring technological innovation closer to SMEs from a practical and business-oriented perspective.
We also thank all attendees for their questions, the exchange of experiences, and the interest shown during the day.
We will continue working to enable more and more B2B companies to harness the potential of generative AI to build more efficient, scalable, and customer-centric operations.
